The resort on Mt Charleston is high up in the mountains of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and is surrounded by magnificentsnow-covered mountain surroundings.
If you want some clean air rather than the harsh desert dryness, this is the place to come and relax for a day or two. It certainly changes your vacation up a little and will undoubtedly confuse families and friends when they start looking through your holiday snaps.
Depending on the time of year you can always find something to do here.If it’s summertime, you can opt for a spot of hiking mountain biking and take in the breathtaking mountain scenery, or during the winter months, you can choose the crowd favorites of Skiing, snowboarding, sledding and any other winter activities you can think of.
On Foot
If you have got a good pair of hiking boots and fancy a stroll, there are more than enough treks and trails for you to follow here in Mt Charleston Las Vegas. You can tackle the most challenging and take in the panoramic views from the “top of the world” or something similar. The trails cover over 50 miles and have four picnic areas en-route, so you have achance for a little R&R on your way. The trails are well maintained and are divided into beginner intermediate and the advanced.
On Board
If the time is right and snow’s on the ground, get out your ski’s or your snowboard and go all rad on the family. Lee Canyon is the place to be for the best skiing action. You can even take the kids and do some snow tubing or let them frolic in the snow in the Foxtail Snowplay area.
It really is another world right in the middle of Las Vegas which is another world in itself. It might seem surreal and a little strange to get used to, within 30 minutes from Las Vegas and all the neon lights and slots, you have snow.
It’s no wonder Frosty the Snowman always has a smile on his face, you have the best of both worlds when you visit the Las Vegas area.
